Colt M16A1 Reissue – Now This Is Cool!

If you are anything like us, and you are fans of Americas military history, then you will love Colt’s reissue of the M16A1!

This rifle is a modern remake and acknowledgement of the weapon which started it all and was issued to U.S troops in Vietnam from around 1969. The M16A1 replaced the original M16 which suffered a number of issues during its first few years in combat. The M16A1 also replaced most of the M14 rifles that were issued during Vietnam as well, so its safe to say, the M16A1 became the stuff of legend.

U.S soldiers in Vietnam with the original – Colt M161A

The reissued M16A1 will come with all of the features found on the original, it will even include the markings “Property of the U.S Govt” on the right side of the lower receiver! That’s very cool and a nice touch. It will also come with a 20-round, straight-body alloy USGI mag, just like the original issued to soldiers in Vietnam.

While this gun isn’t due out until 2017, we are seriously hoping we can get our hands on one, but with production expected to be in a limited run, and an expected price tag of around $2500-$2700 we might need to do some serious convincing of both our other halves and the bank manager!

While the price tag will likely restrict this gun to enthusiasts and collectors, we don’t think that should stop the everyday gun lover  from purchasing one.

We are hoping that if it proves popular enough among everyday users, Colt may just consider a general release of the M16A1 at a more affordable price point.

obviously it’s not a real M16 or it would be class 3 dealers and LEO only.

now, if we can get trump to do a full auto amnesty..which he can order the ATF director to declare at any time..then it could be a real M16
