Heather Franklin of Portland, Ore., entered a store which sold rugs and filmed herself as she asked two employees why they were hanging a Confederate flag rug on the wall for sale – she was offended by this.“You don’t care about having hate flags on your wall?” Franklin said, approaching store employees as she filmed. “It’s a symbol of slavery, it’s like having a Swastika on your wall.”
A man that Franklin zeroed in on responded and told the woman to learn history, denying that the Confederate flag — in this case, rug — was a hate symbol.
“How is that a hate symbol?” he asked. “You should read your history”.
One of the employees gave Franklin and her camera the middle finger and said, “Bye, b****,” and asked whether she’d been a Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders supporter.
“Which one did you vote for that lost?” the employee asked. “Is that why you’re in a bad mood?”
As she left the story two employees followed her out to which Franklin claimed they were “attacking” her and following her. This is really stupid. She clearly has some mental health issues and went into that store looking for attention.
And while no attack took place and she can be heard claiming “I was just attacked in store”, those two employees have been placed on leave – that’s according to the store’s CEO, Andrew Toolson.
Meanwhile, the store that stocked the Confederate flag rug has removed it, apologized & put the employees involved on indefinite leave. pic.twitter.com/3WOJS3PLE1
