As reported, George H.W. Bush was hospitalized on Saturday. The 41st-President was admitted due to shortness of breath, but shortly before his hospitalization, Bush regretfully informed President-elect Trump that neither he nor former first-lady Barbara Bush would be able to attend his inauguration.
“Barbara and I are so sorry we can’t be there for your inauguration on January 20th,” wrote the former president in a letter dated January 10th. “My doctor says if I sit outside in January, it likely will put me six feet under. Same for Barbara. So I guess we’re stuck in Texas.”
Bush went on to say that he will be there in spirit and wishes Trump the best in leading the country.
