Former Kid Rock tour promoter Denny Laden has issued a statement on a potential benefit concert for war veterans which was canned in 2012 due to the weight of governmental pressure for the concert to cease.
The event was rumoured to be headlined by Kid Rock and include performances by Kenny Chesney and Christian icon Scott Stapp (formally of Creed). The event was to span 3 days and include a full Christian mass for those Americans lost in battles in foreign lands. However the event was curtailed when organizers were unable to obtain the appropriate permits. The proceeds were to go to the families of veterans however this was not deemed as important as a Neil Young concert for climate change held the same weekend with approved permits.
Why would government put pressure on stopping a war veteran benefit concert?
Kid Rock has previously gone on record regarding Obama saying “I played Barack Obama’s inauguration even though I didn’t vote for him,” he said. “I didn’t agree with his policies, but there was an exciting sense of change in the air. That promise hasn’t been fulfilled — the country is more divided than ever ”
No doubt the events here left a sour taste in the Republican rockers mouth regarding the Democrat lead government. However, with Trump set to take on the presidency, we can rest assured that events for veterans will proceed!
