As previously reported by Freedom Liberty News, President Trump made a heartfelt phone call to the wife of fallen Navy Seal, Chief Petty Officer William Ryan Owens.
But now it has been revealed on Fox News that President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka made an unannounced visit to Dover Air Force Base Wednesday to attend the dignified transfer of Owens.
The 36-year-old Navy SEAL from Peoria, Ill., was killed during a weekend raid in Yemen. He became the first service member to die for his country during the Trump Administration.
Gold Star wife Jane Horton joined “Fox & Friends” Thursday to share her response to the president’s gesture.
The president’s actions did not go unnoticed by the military community and especially the Gold Star family community,” she said.
Horton’s husband, Chris, was a U.S. Army sniper killed in September 2011, three months after he was deployed to Afghanistan.
Horton said she has met Trump on several occasions and is encouraged by his support of the troops.
What do y’all think of President Trump meeting with fallen heroes families? We think it shows amazing humbleness and gratitude by our President. He understands the sacrifices our military makes for both our country and our freedom!
