President Donald Trump says he’s “pretty much” made up his mind in choosing his nominee for the Supreme Court.
Mr. Trump made the statement during an exclusive interview with Sean Hannity.
“I have made my decision pretty much in my mind, yes,” Trump told Sean. “That’s subject to change at the last moment, but I think this will be a great choice.”
Trump is tasked with filling the seat vacated by the late Justice Antonin Scalia, who passed away in February of 2016.
According to Fox News, the list of Trump’s choices have been narrowed to three judges: 11th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge William Pryor, 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Neil Gorsuch, and 3rd Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Thomas Hardiman. Trump has reportedly met with each judge.
In addition, Trump promised to use the so-called “nuclear option” if Senate Democrats attempt to filibuster his nominee. The nuclear option would allow Trump’s nominee to pass through the Senate with a simple majority rather than the 60-vote threshold.
