Mark Hetfield is the CEO and president of HIAS, a pro-refugee group, and he is an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump’s travel ban.
Trump’s executive order, signed Friday, bars citizens of seven countries from entering the United States for the next 90 days, suspends the admission of all refugees for 120 days and indefinitely suspends the Syrian refugee program.
On “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Hetfield said that the travel ban does not represent “American values.” He also argued we are “turning our back” on refugees…
But Tucker was having none of that! Using FACTS, he pointed out that there are more than 60 million refugees worldwide, according to the U.N. Tucker asking what percentage of those refugees should we help out for our”American values”.
But Hetfield had no response, with Tucker continuing to ask him to answer that question. Tucker quipped “If you’re going to run around with moral statements like, ‘You’re a bad person because you’re against refugees,’ tell me what the rules are, so I can be a good person.”
