North Korea has gone too far, with the death of Otto Warmbier who was kept in their custody for 17 months, it’s time to show the North the United States means business.
They are testing the waters with the Trump Administration to see what they can get away with because they could do whatever they wanted and only get a slap on the wrist under the Obama Administration.
They first started by threatening US cities with destruction and that they would show their military prominence by destroying a US aircraft carrier.
Trump then countered with a simple first-of-a-kind test to show that if they were to attack the US could easily shoot down their missile before it hit anything.
But what happened to Otto is unforgivable.
His unjust imprisonment and treatment while in the North Korean prison are undoubtedly to blame for his untimely death.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson wasn’t going to let this tragedy stand for one second and his response has North Korea running in fear after their colossal mistake.
From Tillerson’s Official statement:
TODAY WE RECEIVED WITH DEEP SADNESS THE NEWS THAT OTTO WARMBIER HAS PASSED AWAY.
ON BEHALF OF THE ENTIRE STATE DEPARTMENT AND THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT, I EXTEND MY CONDOLENCES TO THE WARMBIER FAMILY, AND OFFER MY PRAYERS AS THEY ENTER A TIME OF GRIEF NO PARENT SHOULD EVER KNOW.
WE HOLD NORTH KOREA ACCOUNTABLE FOR OTTO WARMBIER’S UNJUST IMPRISONMENT, AND DEMAND THE RELEASE OF THREE OTHER AMERICANS WHO HAVE BEEN ILLEGALLY DETAINED.
These are the words of a government united in the safe return of Americans that are being held abroad.
Another tragedy like Otto Warmbier will not happen on Tillerson’s watch or else North Korea will pay for the American blood on their hands.
Tillerson just showed North Korea that the US isn’t run by Obama and Hillary anymore and we mean business again.
