Will it never end? Why won’t Obama just retire quietly? Clearly, the Democrats are still mourning their election loss and in his final weekly address in 2016, Obama has made it clear that he won’t be leaving quietly on Jan 20.
Using his final address in 2016, Obama talked himself up, listing off a number of his ‘achievements’, before Obama then went on to give the clearest indication of where, and what he will be doing after Jan 20. And it’s quite clear he will remain on the political scene rather than dropping out into a quiet private life.
Obama said “As I prepare to take on the even more important role of citizen, know that I will be there with you every step of the way to ensure that this country forever strives to live up to the incredible promise of our found – that all of us are created equal, and all of us deserve every chance to live out our dreams.”
Make no mistake! Obama will not be going quietly! He had expected a Clinton victory and he had been looking forward to slipping away in obscurity, however he is now fearful of what a Trump presidency will mean for his “legacy”, for example, Obamacare..
This is an unmistakable suggestion that Obama will stay active to guard the nation against Trump, stating “”I promise you that next year Michelle and I are going to be right there with you, and the clouds are going to start parting and the sun is going to come back out, and we’re going to be busy, involved in the amazing stuff that we’ve been doing all these years before.”
In November Obama told reporters that he would also be sticking around Washington, D.C for a few more years while his youngest daughter finishes High School.
Make no mistake – Obama will not disappear quietly!
